Creativity is a significant 21st century skill. OpenTupa´s creativity course will provide you techniques to improve your own creativity as well as to gives you methods that help your students learn to see things from new perspectives and thereby develop their own creativity.

Creativity skills can be implemented in all subjects. OpenTupa's creativity course is taught by professionals in the arts and education sector, whose exercises the course participants can easily implement with their own students.

In the 7-day creativity course, OpenTupa's trainers bring ideas and exercises from their own fields to the course participants. The structure of the course is designed in such a way that specialists from different fields train on different days. Course participants receive different elements from different art perspectives to develop creativity. We make use of both nature and the city environment, both the indoor and outdoor environment and we use design, art and writing practices to develop creativity.

The course includes a small preliminary assignment and at the end of the course, the participants develop creativity exercises together for their own lessons based on the ideas and exercises received during the week.

Pre-assignment

1. Seven Seconds a Day Diary:

Shoot 7 seconds of video with your phone's camera each day for three days.

You can choose to shoot at the same time every day or at different times of the day.

2. Sharing Good Practices:

Share with the course participants one creativity exercise that you have used with your students or know has been effective in teaching.

Welcome

Introduction: Kick off the course with practical matters and an overview of the week's program.
Icebreaker: Get to know each other and discuss the pre-assignment.
Sharing Good Practices: Review the pre-assignment, where participants share effective methods and strategies. Present one good creativity exercise, either your own or one you know of, with the other group members.
Weekly Assignment: Introduce the weekly task:
Seven Seconds of Video Diary: Record a brief video diary each day.
Nature Photo Frame: Collect materials from nature to create a photo frame.

Forest as a Source of Creativity

Morning Associative Writing Exercise: Start the day with personal morning pages.
Movement & Relaxation: Engage in movement and relaxation activities.
Associative Writing Post-Movement: Continue associative writing with pen on paper without pauses.

Creativity Exercises in an Urban Environment

Design Thinking and Creative Learning Methods

Introduction to Design Thinking: Explore how design thinking can be applied to various subjects in school. Understand the process and methods for creative problem-solving.
Design Experimentation: Experiment with the design process to solve a specific challenge, such as making the school yard more comfortable.
Share and Learn: Present your own puzzles using the Storyboard method and learn from each other's experiences.

Empowering Photography

Pair Task: Work in pairs to highlight the strengths of the person being photographed.
Outcome: Produce a large number of photographs that can be used for self-presentation (home pages, CV, professional networks).

Making a Photo Frame and “Seven Seconds” video
